Our Mission\"\"<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Child Development Center is operated by the Second Baptist Church as a ministry to preschool children and their families both within our church and in our community.  It is our purpose to honor and glorify the Lord by teaching Christian values and principles.  Our teachers incorporate appropriate Bible stories and verses into their units of learning as well as strive to lay the foundation for the development of a biblical world view in the mind and heart of each child. Our goal is to help the children in their cognitive, physical, social, emotional, creative, language and spiritual development.  In order to achieve this, we strive to provide as many age-appropriate, hands-on learning experiences as possible for the children to help them learn about and understand the world around them.   In everything we do, our ultimate desire is to show each child Jesus’ love through our words and actions and cultivate an understanding of God’s unfailing love for them.  The lessons and experiences provided are consistent with the values and Christian principles of Second Baptist Church.<\/p>\n

Texas Rising Star Provider<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Texas Rising Star certification is a process of improving the quality of child care provided in Texas.  Texas Rising Star providers voluntarily meet requirements that exceed the state minimum standards for child care facilities. Through annual assessments, centers are graded on a graduated scale which offers three levels of certification (Two-Star, Three-Star, and Four-Star).  Second Baptist Child Development Center has continually received 4 Star recognition since it’s first evaluation in 2006.   Our staff works hard to maintain a high standard.  Receiving this certification is not only a huge honor, it helps give parents the assurance that their children are in capable hands.<\/p>\n
