Imagine you are a citizen of ancient Jerusalem. Your day starts as any normal day. Up early to do chores around the house. Then off to the market to step up your shop. Each street is jammed with people, it is Passover so this feels normal. But on the other hand it felt different. You can’t get through so you join the crowd. You follow the crowd up to execution hill and watch a man named Jesus crucified. This is our starting point for reading the Gospel of Matthew. We are going to move through the book as one who discovered Jesus on his last day.
